Background
Philip and Audrey Pongetti are both Mississippi State University alumni. Their loyalty shows in their support for their local Alumni chapter by holding offices and helping with events to promote our university. By making this gift, they wish to honor their family while helping their alma mater.
In April 2014, Mr. and Mrs. Pongetti made a personal gift along with matching funds from ExxonMobil to support the East Texas Alumni Chapter Scholarship Fund, Mechanical Engineering and the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery center for America’s Veterans.
Criteria
Candidates for the Jacob C. Pongetti Family Endowed Scholarship must:
- Be full-time undergraduate military veteran at Mississippi State University.
- Have demonstrated record of academic achievement, with at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA (in an entering freshman) or at least a 3.0 cumulative college GPA, based on a 4.0 scale.
